Memory Makers:
A Nature Mobile Workshop

Trà My Hickin & Mai Anh Le
with the An Việt Archives

Memory Makers

Join artist Mai Anh Le and community organiser Trà My Hickin on a nature mobile making workshop as we explore the gardens of the ESEA Community Centre, discover found objects local to the grounds, and explore the history of the centre through An Việt Archives’ material.

Together we will preserve the natural and historical materials onto a hanging mobile, preserving our histories and memories.

Participants are welcome to bring along nature objects from their homes and gardens to attach to their mobile.

Trà My Hickin works at the intersection of arts and community wellbeing through publishing, editorial, and archiving. Using storytelling to advance social justice, she focuses on Vietnamese and ESEA migrant communities.

She is editor of Translator magazine and co-directs the An Việt Archives.

Mai Anh Le is a British Vietnamese artist who uses the playful and meditative qualities of clay and craft as a vehicle to explore ideas of community, connection and ancestral knowledge in the diaspora.
