Making food can be a simple and caring act that can be anyone’s language… and so can making zines.
Table Talk is a 2-hour graphic art zine making workshop that will let the participants create a communal recipe zine together through collaging and scanning.
We invite you to create pages by collaging and scanning, share conversations and recipes, and contribute to the ‘dining table’, by making a communal zine together.
The table becomes an artboard that is constantly co-edited, shifting, and mutating. How can your content converse and collaborate with the person touching it before or after you?
The workshop will consist of gathering, scanning, and designing with elements from the centre and the participants (from the garden, kitchen, archive, personal stuff) and making a zine on memories and flavours, using the scanner and a communal designing technique. Participants will be invited to bring items to scan and recipes to share. We will be making textures/elements through scanning, editing, printing, writing, and drawing pages together. We will finish the zine on the day by printing and binding together, sharing skills and experiences on zine making.
